About Me

Michel BoudreauMy name is Michel Boudreau (or Michael for you english folk).  I’m a Creative Engineer living in New York City who specializes in web technologies.  I say ‘Creative Engineer’ because my job is to combine user experience, art and functionality in web applications.

I was born and raised in a small town called Caraquet in the Acadian Peninsula (north-east) of New Brunswick, Canada.  At the age of 17, I moved to Ottawa to study and hopefully make a name for myself in one of Canada’s largest IT sectors. After several years in the web industry, I moved to New York City to pursue my passion for bleeding edge technology in one of the fastest moving markets of the world. My dream is to continue doing what I do and travel the world doing it.

When I’m not coding away, I play sports, rock out on the bass guitar, brew beer, cook and watch the game (Go Sens Go!).  I’m a goalkeeper in soccer and middle/offside/libero in volleyball.  I’m a certified Level 1 volleyball coach and I coached for 4 years before coming to New York. I also try to keep active in the community by answering questions on StackOverflow, organizing the New York Flex Meetup, running the #flex channel on freenode and speaking a various events.

I’ve recently been introduced to the world of photography and trying to make up for lost time with this amazing device. You can see my favorite picutres on Google Plus.
